GET A SOLAR PV HEALTH CHECK AND SERVICE TO MAKE SURE YOUR SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY
To ensure your solar panels are working as efficiently as possible, it is important to keep up to date on your servicing and maintenance. We recommend that you book in for a service and health check every 12 months and can tailor our packages to suit your needs.
What Do Solar PV Service Packages Include?
Our competent engineers will check through key elements that can affect the performance of your solar panels, including but not limited to:
- Check panels are free of dirt and debris
- Inspect all mounting systems and fixings, ensuring they are safely secured
- Check for shading issues since the installation
- Check DC cables are secure
- Check that modules are free from dirt/leaves, bird droppings etc
- Check the roof integrity
- Test of current devices to ensure they are in good working order
- Inspect electrical connections for corrosion and ensure they are secure
- Check enclosures are secure and IP rating is maintained
- Check the earthing system is intact and up to standard
- Check and record AC and DC Voltage
- Check and record current
- Check and record irradiance
- Ensure the insulation of live parts is undamaged
- Inspect inverters and the generation meter, and check readings
- Produce servicing and performance certificate
If any faults are found, we are happy to deal with manufacturers direct to claim back against your warranty (if applicable) and get new components fitted as soon as possible, ensuring you don’t miss out on your generation.

Solar Panel Cleaning – Improve your system performance!
Dirty solar panels can significantly reduce the output of the system as a whole. We recommend that solar panels are cleaned every 1 to 2 years depending on where they are installed and the level of soiling and debris which collects on them.
Panels can often look clean from ground level but closer inspection shows a thin layer of dirt and dust has formed. Bird droppings and tree leaves will often build up over time and need to be removed.
Solar Immersion Switch – Use all the electricity you generate!If you have a hot water immersion heater you can maximise the energy use from your solar panels by sending any surplus electricity to the hot water tank, electric underfloor heating or storage heaters. The solar immersion switch monitors the energy being generated from the PV panels and how much is being used in the property. As soon as there is a surplus (i.e. you are exporting to the grid) the immersion switch diverts the electricity to the immersion heater and heats your hot water tank for free!
Remote Monitoring – Make sure your PV investment is operational!
Being able to monitor your PV system allows you to maximise energy use and diagnose system faults as they happen. Retrofit web based and physical monitoring systems allow you keep on top of your system. Many have mobile phone applications and web browser access.
Inverter Upgrades – Improve system performance and output!
Should your solar PV inverter be out of warranty and fail you could consider upgrading to a SolarEdge system with power optimisers.
