In the summer of 2017 we were asked to suggest suitable renewable heating options for an new build oak frame house in the Wirral. The chosen solution was an 8kW Hitachi air source heat pump paired with underfloor heating on the ground floor and energy efficient radiators upstairs.
A detailed SAP calculation had been completed detailing the construction of the building. From this a heat loss calculation was carried out and the size of the heat pump matched to the buildings heat load. The heat pump was located next to a barn 10 meters from the property plant room. A trench was dug and 28mm pre-insulated pipe was installed to transfer the heat.
The Heat Pump – An 8kW Hitachi Air Source Heat Pump was selected to meet the property’s heat demand.
The Cylinder – A 300 litre twin coil air source heat pump cylinder was installed in the plant room. The second coil is for a solar thermal panel installed on the roof.
The Control Unit – A Hitachi control mirror board was installed in the plant room along with the pumps and zone valves required.
The Greener Group have been installing ASHP systems since 2012 and have gained a wealth of experience over the years. Working with commercial clients to guide and inform, we take a project from design to completion. If you are considering a solar PV system for your property please get in touch to discuss the project.
